In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
Spanish designer Alvaro Aparicio de Leon has unveiled a new 114-metre (374-foot) superyacht concept named Ines.
Designed with a sleek silhouette and multipurpose interiors, Ines is a full-displacement yacht with vertical bow to ensure maximum seaworthiness and usable inner space. Other notable characteristics include a series of round portholes, a feature that de Leon believes symbolises the “timelessness” of his new concept.
Discussing the idea behind the design, the Spanish designer said, “Most of the yachts of similar size that I’ve seen seemed too large – more like transatlantic cruisers. I decided to find out if I could make a sleeker one. Now that everybody’s creating yachts as if they were Lamborghinis, I want to keep making something modern, but timeless.”
According to de Leon, Ines’ sleek look is the result of an unusual length to volume ratio, which has been achieved by reducing the beam to 15 metres (46 foot).
On-board accommodation is for up to 20 guests, with many of the cabins able to be converted into social spaces at the client’s request.
Owner’s quarters on the upper deck comprise a master suite, office, separate bathrooms and a dressing room. This deck can be shared with two spacious VIP staterooms, or alternatively, host a lounge, cinema and library, while further VIP guest accommodation is split between the main and bridge decks. The crew quarters allows for a staff of up to 42 members.
The key feature of Ines’ exterior is her superyacht beach club, which boasts a touch-and-go helipad and an indoor-outdoor swimming pool that also acts as part of the tender-launch system. This area is lit from above with daylight filtering through the glass-bottom pool on the main deck.
The garage on the lower deck has enough room for two limo tenders, four jet-skis and a U-Boat Worx Super Yacht Sub 3 submarine. There is also an additional dedicated helipad on the upper deck.
As a previous finalist in the 2012 ShowBoats Design Awards with a design for a 50m (164ft) expedition vessel turned private yacht, Alvaro Aparicio de Leon is renowned for his involvement in projects above 50 metres. The 74m V+A and the 85m T are his two most recent projects.
