41m charter superyacht Legenda attacked with passengers aboard

Reports state that on Tuesday 30th July, around 7:30am, a 43-year-old resident of Corsica armed with a knife entered 41-metre (135-foot) superyacht Legenda, with charterers of Russian nationality aboard. Flying the flag of the Cayman Islands, the yacht was anchored less than 2km from the Port of Taverna, Corsica.

The crew and passengers are reportedly unharmed and managed to disarm the individual, who was arrested and taken to the police department of Southern Corsica. A judicial investigation of the accident has been initiated.

The 41.1-metre Legenda was built by Italian yard Mondomarine in 2009. In 2014, she changed owners, asking €8.8 million, and the name was changed from Alexander Two to Legenda. The yacht features exterior design by Cor D Rover and interiors by Luca Dini. Boasting interior volume of 360 GT, Legenda offers accommodation for up to 12 guests across five cabins.

With a beam of 8.5 metres and a draft of 2.3 metres, she has aluminium hull and superstructure. Propelled by MTU engines of 2250 hp to a maximum speed of 19 knots, she cruises at 14 knots for up to 3,000 nautical miles.
