In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
Following a comprehensive refit aboard the 54m Damen Sea Axe offshore support vessel, Advantage has emerged from her shed at Oceania Marine in Whangerei, seeing her transformed to suit her new purpose as a superyacht support vessel.
Starting in August this year, the refit saw custom changes carried out aboard, including installation of a submarine garage, a newly configurated deck and new Quantum stabilisers. The vessel was then finished in a striking new grey and white paint job. All work was completed in just under four months, and was overseen by New Zealand-based business, Diverse Projects.
Inside, her purpose-built interior which was previously equipped to carry 60+ crew members, has been removed and three new guest cabins, a captain’s cabin and new mess area and office has been installed on the main deck. Below, her crew area and galley have also been stripped and upgraded to fit her new application.
Her exterior spaces have seen a new Bolidt synthetic deck applied, a stern anchor fitter to the transom area, and a submarine garage installed in order to expand her exploration capabilities.
Lars Bjorkland, director of Diverse Projects said, “A phenomenal amount of work has been done and in a short period of time. This is an absolute credit to the yard and all involved, given the wide ranging and very specific compliance requirements entailed in a refit of this scale.”
Following the installation of a new on-deck tender crane, testing of her stabilisers and classification testing, Advantage will depart New Zealand to join her mothership in Tahiti.
