In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
The well-known charter superyacht Sherakhan has been relaunched at Icon Yachts’ Dutch shipyard after being repainted, refitted and having a full machinery upgrade.
Sherakhan first arrived for a major refit at Icon Yachts on 13th September this year, and the most noticeable change has seen the 70-metre (230-foot) hull repainted to a more contemporary white colour from its original vintage blue.
Along with cosmetic adjustments to the yacht’s interior areas and audio-visual upgrades, her main generators were replaced with low emission models to reduce the yacht’s impact on the environment.
Built by A. Vuijk & Zonen in 1965, the classic yacht started out as Princess Margaret. Its present owner, Dutch entrepreneur Jan Verkerk, managed to breath new life into the boat in 2005, when it was rebuilt at his yard and renamed Sherakhan.
She has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure with a beam of 12 metres (39 foot) and a draft of 4 metres (13 foot). Twin Caterpillar engines of 1380hp each give her a maximum speed of 13 knots and a cruising speed of 11 knots.
Her technical characteristics allow her to cruise to the most remote areas of the planet, accommodating up to 24 guests within her 12 staterooms.
Sherakhan will be available for charter starting from December 2017 in the Caribbean and then in Northern Europe in mid 2018. It is currently on the market looking for a new owner, asking for 24.5 million euros.
