Russian icebreaker Legend is set to sail around Greenland, the world’s biggest island with a population of less than 60,000 people, from 19th – 26th April 2019. The exclusive superyacht tour of the country’s west coast will present its most isolated coves and bays, featuring heli-skiing excursions and submarine tours.
The 77-metre (253-foot) vessel will begin its journey in Greenland’s capital Nuuk and continue on to Kangerlussuaq, a small town at the eastern end of a deep fjord.
Greenland is one of the world’s final remaining uninhabited regions, making it unlikely that guests will be met with many other signs of human life along this breath-taking escapade.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore below the water on board Legend’s submarine, which is capable of diving 1,000 feet underneath the surface. Dog-sledding, snowmobile racing and heli-skiing trips are also some of the activities which will be available.
The superyacht is now intended for non-stop charter, typically only available to book in its entirety, with charter costs starting at £430,000 per week.
Individual cabins will be accessible for passengers, including food and drinks, selected shore excursions and designated activities.
As Legend is smaller than other superyachts which have previously explored the island, it can access the country’s small coves and shallow waters, whilst maintaining its icebreaker capacity.
