90m superyacht overturns at Amico & Co shipyard

Italian shipyard Amico & Co’s 90-metre (256-foot) superyacht Nero has overturned in a dry dock at its refit facility.

It is believed that the overturning incident was due to a support panel collapsing as the yacht was being relaunched, according to local newspaper Primocanale.it.

Two people were rescued from the yacht, while another four are reported to have been injured in the event. It is not yet known how severely the yacht has been damaged, as well as what triggered the panel to give way.

Italian newspaper Il Secolo XIX has stated that the fire service and harbour master have attended the scene.

Nero was designed by Neil Taylor, with naval architecture by Imt Marine Consultants and interior styling by Luxury Projects. The popular charter yacht was delivered in 2008 and offers accommodation for up to 12 guests and 20 crew members.
