Abeking & Rasmussen delivers 74.5m superyacht Elandess

German shipyard Abeking & Rasmussen has delivered its new 74.5-metre (244-foot) superyacht Elandess following the success of her launch back in May.

The announcement was first made in the 2016 Global Order Book, and was then revealed in July 2017 during the later stages of her construction.

The 2,065GT steel-and-aluminium yacht features exterior and interior styling by first-time yard collaborators Harrison Eidsgaard – a London based design studio.

Burgees Technical Consultancy Services provided project management and acted as the owner’s representative during Elandess’ construction phase.

The exterior styling features an axe bow, dark hull and low-slung superstructure, making her an identifiable build. The German yard had previously explained that the naval architecture was developed in-house, with the unique ‘Atlantic Bow’ creating a fine entry point.

The interiors have been designed to meet the owner’s brief of a modern and spacious yacht that would be equally suited for relaxed family time and entertainment.

Key features on board include a large swimming pool on the grand sun deck, a Nemo lounge with portholes below the waterline, an observation lounge on the upper deck and a variety of flexible, open-plan communal spaces.

Guest accommodation is split across six staterooms, including a luxurious master suite on the main deck.

The interior fitting was completed in collaboration with Rodiek, who previously worked with the boat builder on 60-metre superyacht Kaiser.

Elandess, whose name is believed to be inspired by the first initials of her two owners, was spotted making her way up the Thames to London on her maiden voyage following her delivery. This superyacht is the owners’ second with Abeking & Rasmussen.
