Adidas Sailing partners with Land Rover BAR

Adidas Sailing, producers of performance marine footwear and accessories, has announced that it is supporting the Land Rover BAR (Ben Ainslie Racing) team as its technical supplier of footwear and sports luggage products.

The agreement, which was signed on the Adidas Sailing stand on the first day of the recent METS Trade Show in Amsterdam, marks a significant step forward for the clothing and footwear brand.

According to the brand, the Land Rover BAR team will provide feedback throughout the duration of the America’s Cup, which will be invaluable in taking its footwear range forward, improving levels of comfort, durability and performance.

The commercial range of Adidas Sailing/Land Rover BAR branded footwear and sports luggage products will soon become available for sale from retailers, and via the Adidas Sailing web shop.

Speaking during the METS show last week, Matthew Forbes of Adidas Sailing said, “This is great news, and has come at the perfect point in time for our business. So far we have been inundated with interest from the trade and media at METS. Adidas has always been associated with athletic performance at the highest level with Sir Ben and his team using our footwear in his precious Olympic campaigns. We are very excited to be supporting BAR to bring the Cup home.”

Sir Ben Ainslie commented, “Adidas Sailing shoes were great for me whilst sailing in my Olympic boats, and we are really looking forward to working with them to develop shoes for the physical challenges we face on the new foiling multihulls.”
