Heesen motor yacht Amigo has returned to Moonen this month for a winter check-up.
The 30-metre vessel, launched in 2003, has undergone four check-ups and a refit at the Dutch yard in the past and is set for a six-week stay this year. During her latest stint she will experience regular maintenance work, hull checks, exterior paint retouching and antifouling treatment.
This will result in Amigo achieving her CBB certificate, an accreditation that all yachts over 20 metres cruising the rivers and canals of the Netherlands and Northern Europe must hold by the end of 2018.
Jan Tielemans, service manager at Moonen, noted, “It is important for the client that the work be done at a highly regarded Dutch yard, not least to preserve her resale value.
“We can already tell that the work we did last time has held up well. Fortunately, the owner is a real boatman, and sails her a lot throughout the season.”
Styled by Pieter Beeldsnijder, accommodation on board Amigo is for up to 10 guests and three crewmembers. She is powered by a pair of 2,000hp MTU 16V2000 M91 diesel engines for a top speed of 25 knots and a range of 1,800nm at an economical speed of 12 knots.
Other superyacht projects currently in works at Moonen include the 36.3-metre Project Martinique, which is scheduled to hit the water next year.
