Arie de Boom Marine Group celebrates its 100th year

Recently the Arie de Boom Marine Group, a fourth generation Dutch family business, not only celebrated the centennial of the family holding, it also festively commemorated its 40 years’ anniversary on the Côte d’Azur.

Arie de Boom Marine Group is a family run business, made up of two substantial marinas in The Netherlands as well as co-owns and manages a full-service marina just outside Cannes.

Sponsored by AIX rosé wine, an award winning wine from the Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence made by the Dutchman Eric Kurver, the event saw over 300 French, Dutch and international guests gather in the marina Port de la Rague for a celebration in grand style.

In the past four decades, Aire de Boom has set up ten commercial marinas in the Netherlands. Starting in the seventies, the family business also succeeded in establishing a prominent position with a full service-marina, yacht distribution and brokerage firm on the French Côte d’Azur.

Travel lift

Following successful reinvestments, experiences and expertise in the marine group, Arie de Boom invested in a brand new 100 tonnes Cimolai travel lift, recently renamed ‘Big Broom III’. As a result, Arie de Boom Marine is the first firm on the Côte d’Azur to boast a telescopic extension travel lift.

This large piece of equipment now makes it possible for Arie de Boom Group to service larger yachts, growing their capacity from 70 tonnes to 100.

The travel lift has four large, fully swivelling wheels for maximum manoeuvrability and can be remotely controlled benefitting the safety of the staff.

As well as the new travel lift. Arie de Boom Marine Group can supply maintenance and repairs, winter storage (inside/outside), dry-stack storage, fuel dock and an experienced and expert team always at hand.
