This year’s ASMEX (Australian Superyacht and Marine Export) conference in Sanctuary Cove, a luxury resort in the Gold Coast area of Queensland, Australia, on 22nd to 23rd May, is set to be a big success according to its organisers.
ASMEX’s key focus is to attract international delegates who are interested in doing business with Australian companies. This year’s event is well on-track to achieving its goals, says MaryAnne Edwards of organisers AIMEX CEO (Australian Marine Export Group).
“We are always looking for relevant and productive ways to drive business for our members in the marine export and Superyacht sectors,” said MaryAnne. “What better way to do this than bring in key players in the market from around the globe.”
In partnership with the Gold Coast City Council, AIMEX CEO has announced that it has found buyers from Brazil, Florida, the UAE and Taiwan. All will specifically attend the conference to network with Australian companies.
The event could offer a significant boost for superyacht businesses on the Gold Coast. Many of the attending stakeholders have already advised they are interested in looking at Australian-made boats as well as key products.
Those attending the conference will also exhibit at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (May 24th to 27th), which takes place immediately after the conference.
AFI Global Marine of Brazil will be among the conference’s attendees. Said AFI’s Luiz Gomes: “I am confident that my attendance to ASMEX and the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show will be quite beneficial to all.
“In addition to strengthening our relationship, it opens the door for AFI Global Marine to select another synergistic Australian manufacturer to represent and promote in Brazil.”
ASMEX has already confirmed that a number of keynote speakers will attend this year’s event including, Ozgur Tuna, Business Development Manager for Austrade, and Erwin Bamps, Chief Operating Officer for Gulf Craft, to discuss superyacht business opportunities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
