Baglietto begins construction on 40m superyacht

Italian shipyard Baglietto has confirmed construction has begun on an as yet unnamed 40-metre (131-foot) custom superyacht.

Yacht designer Horacio Bozzo is responsible for her exterior design, while Achille Salvagni is leading the interior brief.

Michele Gavino, chief executive of Baglietto, stated that the yard was “very proud” of the project.

“It represents another step towards the constructive excellence, which is the main goal of all our efforts and again a demonstration of the shipyard’s intention to keep pursuing technical innovation and developing our naval engineering capabilities,” he said.

The all-aluminium yacht is scheduled for delivery in 2020 to an American owner.

Baglietto currently has five yachts under construction at its La Spezia shipyard, including a 55-metre (180-foot) Francesco Paszkowski-designed yacht due for completion this year and a third 48-metre (157-foot) model due for delivery in 2020.
