Baglietto unveils 40m Bahamas-inspired superyacht concept Abaco

Italian shipyard Baglietto has revealed its latest superyacht concept: the 40-metre (131-foot) Abaco.

Designed by Santa Maria Magnolfi, the concept was presented at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show earlier this month.

Named after Abaco Island, the superyacht is intended to cruise around the Bahamas and is a ‘tribute’ to those affected by Hurricane Dorian. A percentage of the first sale of the project will be donated to relief efforts in the Bahamas.

The superyacht concept will be able to accommodate up to 10 guests across five cabins, including an owner’s suite with an office and his and hers bathrooms on the main deck.

Combining ‘robust’ exterior lines with vast external spaces, Abaco will boast over 120 square metres of outdoor space.

Abaco’s key features will include a beach club and infinity pool at the stern, and a winter garden and bar on the main deck.

Her luxurious interior is a ‘continuity of the exterior’ and will present natural materials for ‘an exotic touch, freshness and elegance’.

The superyacht’s tender garage will be capable of holding a six-metre tender, while an additional forward garage will be able to accommodate a rescue tender and multiple water toys.

Abaco will be powered by two CAT C32 ACERT D rated engines for a top speed of 17.5 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots. A hybrid alternative is also available.
