Baltic Yachts launches eye-catching Doryan carbon bluewater superyacht

Baltic Yachts has launched Doryan, a 116ft (35m) carbon bluewater sailing yacht with a scarlet red hull, offering another example of the successful collaboration between Baltic Yachts and design partners, Nauta Design and judel/vrolijk & co.

According to the Finnish shipyard, Doryan was designed to match the brief for “a timeless and elegant yacht that offers long-term living comfort and space for joyful and private time”. She therefore has a large deck free of clutter, lots of on-board storage and a tank volume of 13,000L for long-term unassisted passage making.

Doryan has utilised the current composite trend of a hard top carbon bimini that the brand says is “integral to the owner’s vision of providing a sheltered position for friends and family to enjoy their cruising”. The wraparound deckhouse therefore has a big cockpit aft with two large U-shaped lounge areas that both offer great views while providing protection from the elements.

She is designed to sail short-handed, with push-button controls provided for all sails at the helm, including the in-boom main and furlers for the staysail and blade, allowing her to be operated by a small crew. Her keel lifts two-metres to 3.5m to access waters that are usually off-limits to superyachts.

As a Baltic, she is created with state-of-the-art composite construction; her hull is built in vaccum-infused epoxy and carbon sandwich laminate to be stiff, light and strong. She weighs 95 tonnes and has an extra large stern garage to house plenty of yacht toys, plus a triple cockpit layout with separate areas for navigation, living and sunbathing.

The Nauta-designed interior is spacious, predominately using teak wood, plus maple-striped floorboards to give an elegant and timeless look. As a professional sailing yacht, she features a no-frills approach to styling, which is welcoming yet not distracting from the ocean. Her accommodation offers an owner’s suite and two guest cabins forward as well as two more guest cabins aft, plus cabins for six permanent crew.

Baltic Yachts also has a 115’ yacht due for launch this August, and a 130’ yacht set to launch next summer. The shipyard also has a 175-foot hull in construction.

Doryan is set to make her debut at the Monaco Yacht Show in September.
