Benetti launches the sixth hull in its Fast 140 series

On Thursday 19th April in Viareggio, Italy, Benetti Yachts launched the sixth hull in its Fast 140 series of 42-metre (137.8-foot) motor yachts.

BF206 M/Y Ironman is a semi-displacement yacht in the Class product line with exterior styling by Stefano Righini and interiors by US-based designer Alfred Karram Jr and his studio Akj Design Concepts.

Like Benetti’s recently launched Fast 125 units, My Way and Charade, Ironman has a D2P_Displacement to Planing® hull with wave piercer, designed by Pierluigi Ausonio with the Azimut|Benetti Research and Development Centre. This combines the benefits of a displacement hull at low speeds, with those of a high-performance planing hull, delivering reduced fuel consumption at cruising speed, and a top speed of 23 knots.

Inside, the main lounge is divided into living and dining areas, with a table which seats up to 12 guests. Elsewhere on the same deck is a full-beam master suite, with outdoor spaces in the stern.

The upper deck houses a spacious pilot house which contains the captain’s cabin with double bed, and a lounge area with bar, which is separated from the outside by a sliding-glass door, where there is a dining table and sun-lounging area to the stern.

The sundeck houses another outdoor-relaxation area, with two large L-shaped sofas from which to enjoy the views, while guest accommodation is set on the lower deck, comprised of two VIP cabins with double beds, two cabins with twin beds, and a third VIP cabin with a double bed.

In a recent release about the newly launched yacht, Benetti commented, “M/Y Ironman’s interiors are designed by by US-based designer Alfred Karram Jr, who has given the yacht some elegantly sophisticated style details.

“The large glazed surfaces on the main deck, one of the yacht’s stand-out features, become an integral part of the decor, flooding the spaces with light and offering splendid sea views.”
