Blue Coast Yachts reveals 60m trimaran project

French shipyard Blue Coast Yachts has revealed a new project for a 60m trimaran superyacht, to be built in Latvia. Due to begin construction in September, 2016 the project has a launch date of 2018.

The project was designed by Coste Design and Gilles Vaton. On board she has accommodation for 12 guests and eight crew, with a main-deck master cabin and five guest cabins in the central hull. In the main saloon are areas for entertaining and relaxing, and a formal dining area with large windows.

The upper deck features a raised pilothouse, and back aft is room for a glass-sided pool, with lounging space available on the foredeck. Blue Coast Yachts said that the project has “enormous scope for customisation”, with a choice of six hull colours to choose from.

The trimaran’s hybrid propulsion system features two 2,600hp diesel engines, as well as one electric engine. As well as being able to reach a top speed of 30 knots, the trimaran will also have the option of all-electric mode, able to silently cruise at up to eight knots. Her fuel tank of 20,000l will allow an estimated cruising range of up to 2,800nm.
