Boero Group to appear at Expo 2020 Dubai

As a result of the current health emergency caused by the global spread of the COVID-19 virus, the official opening of the eagerly awaited Expo 2020 Dubai will be pushed back until next year. In any case, Boero Group confirms its commitment to the event and continues work to supply the materials that will showcase the best of ‘Made in Italy’ in the world of colour.

The company will contribute valuable content to back up the claim chosen by the Italian General Commission for Expo 2020 Dubai, “Beauty Unites People”, in the sense of connection, expertise, innovation and a vehicle of knowledge. It is a code of values that has always been a distinctive feature of the Italian identity and industries like the Boero Group, which has been developing and producing paint products for the building and yachting industries since 1831.

The company’s contribution to beauty will be expressed through colour, a field in which the Group has almost 200 years of history, including the implementation of over 80 colour plans across Italy that have restored the charm of the original colour tones to the country’s historic centres and villages.

The tints developed by the group will coat the structure of the Italy Pavilion in an operation involving over 13,000 square meters of total interior and exterior surface area.

Specifically, the company’s high-performance products for the yachting industry, will deliver the best results colour-wise for the hulls that make up the upper section of the pavilion. This surface, totalling 2,100 square metres, will be painted in the three colours of the Italian flag, creating the world’s largest tricolore. The hulls will be painted using top-of-the-range Challenger Pro for excellent durability and gloss. In addition, the pillars that support the hulls and have a surface area of over 4,000 square metres will be coated with Viva, a gloss enamel with impressive hiding power and strength.

The pavilion’s main interior surfaces will also benefit from the group’s expertise in the building sector, with highly innovative and sustainability-oriented solutions used for the VIP area, auditorium, educational lab and foyer. Other natural products will be used such as algae, a material used in various areas and for multiple applications in the pavilion, based on experience gained with the Italian Institute of Technology on the potential offered by vegetable waste.
