British Marine to host new networking conference

UK trade association British Marine has launched a new national conference for the industry with a focus on innovation, collaboration and networking.

The first National Conference: Innovate for Success will be held at the National Motorcycle Museum and National Conference Centre (NCC) in the heart of the Midlands from 15th to 16th March 2022.

According to British Marine, the inaugural national conference will provide an essential pre-season focal point for UK marine businesses to come together, network and collaborate.

According to a British Marine statement: “With a focus on innovation, the event will explore new and emerging consumer trends and barriers to continued business growth and success. These include new consumer lifestyle choices, logistical, post-pandemic and Brexit-related challenges, and new environmental opportunities.”

Delegates will draw inspiration from headline keynote speakers, while carefully curated presentations from subject matter experts will provide insight from marine and other industries across broad and sector-specific issues.

“Dedicated presentation and break-out spaces within the modern National Conference Centre will enable ample opportunity for discussion, networking and for those looking to exhibit,” said British Marine. “With hundreds of marine professionals expected to attend from across the industry, time to meet and mingle will be maximised through on-site lunches and refreshment breaks.”

The opportunity to engage with all delegates will be further enhanced by a networking buffet dinner.

Speaking at the Southampton International Boat Show launch of the conference, British Marine member and event chair, Paul Martin, said, “Innovation is critical to the individual success of businesses and collective health of our industry. This event has grown out of the demand from our members and associations for a pivotal conference at which we can all meet to share, learn and collaborate. It will create a fantastic opportunity for B2B networking, acquiring knowledge and sharing best practice from across marine and wider sectors. We look forward to seeing a wide cross-section of delegates and participating companies there.”

The National Conference: Innovate for Success 2022 is already in detail planning, with a British Marine member steering group providing feedback from sector specific and regional associations. Further details regarding the programme will be announced through the autumn.

British Marine is calling for expressions of interest from those who would like to attend as delegates, or to learn more about sponsorship and opportunities to exhibit. There is also an opportunity to volunteer suggestions for content.
