Burgess continues record-breaking year and completes one of the biggest brokerage deals of 2018

Superyacht brokerage firm Burgess has announced the sale of Oceanco-built behemoth Jubilee, the biggest yacht ever built in the Netherlands.

The 110-metre (361-foot) superyacht, which was originally delivered in July 2017 and listed at $275 million, is the 26th confirmed sale by Burgess in 2018.

Jubilee was built for the late Emir of Qatar, and its new owners are believed (but not confirmed) to be American billionaire Ann Walton (of the Walmart-founding Walton dynasty) and her husband, sports mogul Stan Kroenke. The couple are said to already own Derecktor’s 85-metre (281-foot) Aquila, the largest yacht to be built in the USA since the 1930s.

Jubilee’s sale is one of the largest brokerage deals ever recorded, and has helped boost Burgess’ record-breaking totals. The total monetary value of the company’s sales for the year is reportedly over $1 billion, with an average LOA of 53.4 metres (175 feet).

Jubilee features a number of ultra-luxurious features, including a built-in aquarium, large aft swimming pool and a helicopter operating deck. She offers accommodation for up to 30 guests, and has a private deck for her owners.

Jonathan Beckett, CEO of Burgess, said to SuperyachtNews, “This marks a milestone in Burgess' history. Jubilee is very close to our hearts; following the initial introduction of the client to the shipyard, Burgess New Construction saw her successful build and delivery.

“Then, 18 months later, our sales force closed the transaction, making it one of the largest deals not only in 2018 but in superyachting history. Oceanco really set the standard when producing this award-winning yacht, and I wish her new owners many happy years on board.”

Jubilee will lose sole ownership of the ‘biggest Dutch yacht’ title when Feadship’s 110-metre Anna is delivered in the near future. Oceanco’s recently launched Y718 is just shy of the record-equalling size, but still ranks third overall at 109 metres LOA.
