In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
Reed Expositions, organisers of Cannes Yachting Festival, has revealed a number of events that will take place during this year’s show, running 10th-15th September.
There is a raft of new events on the show’s calendar for its 42nd edition, along with all the usual activity from previous events. This year’s show also sees the opening of the Port Canto Sailing Area, which will host 120 new sailing boats, monohulls and multihulls from 10 metres (33 feet) and up, as well as 80 exhibitors.
Among the noteworthy events on the calendar is La Regata, which will take place on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th with the logistical support of the Cannes Yacht Club. Across two days, five teams will compete in the bay of Cannes on the multihulls of the Tour Voile: a four-round competition.
Show attendees will be able to enjoy the racing from Port Canto. As a surprise, newbies or enthusiasts will be randomly selected in a daily draw to take part as crew members on one of the regatta boats.
In other events, the electrically powered Energy Observer will be exhibited at the entrance of Port Canto during the show, near the Sailing Area. The ‘ship of the future’ runs on a mix of renewable energies and a carbon-free hydrogen propulsion system that is seawater based. The vessel is on schedule to travel the world on an odyssey of 50 countries and 101 stopovers.
Elsewhere, the SailGP will be heading to the festival and presented to the press and exhibitors on Tuesday 10th. On the eve of the final stage in Marseille of the international SailGP circuit, Stéphanie Nadin, manager of the Marseille event, will discuss the championship in great detail with those in attendance.
