CCN’s latest endeavour, designed by Stefano Vafiadis, was outlined during the 2018 Versilia Yachting Rendezvous in Viareggio, Italy.
DOM123, the name drawing from the Latin word for home, domus, has been designed to meet the requirements of a young yacht owner, blending modern Italian style with pure comfort.
DOM123 has an aluminium semi-displacement hull and is expected to be capable of a 21-knot top speed as a result of her twin MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines (1939kW each). The bulbous hull, tested at Zagreb’s Brodarsky Institute, has been designed for the best possible navigation performance – she will have a reach of 3,000 nautical miles while cruising at 12 knots. Stability during all sea conditions is ensured thanks to an 8.7-metre beam, which also gives her an impressive amount of interior space.
Inside, the DOM123 is flexible and stylish. The lower deck will contain four or five cabins capable of accommodating up to 12 guests, while the main deck will be reserved solely for the owner’s quarters. This luxurious section is set to feature a pair of floor-to-ceiling windows that allow for magnificent views and torrents of natural light throughout the day.
DOM123 will also feature a number of spacious communal areas, including two grand saloons. A sky lounge – which can convert into a cinema room – will be located on the upper deck, with sliding doors able to be opened completely for a seamless transition to the outdoors. It is here that an al-fresco dining area will be found, complete with panoramic views,
The main and upper decks will contain full-sized pantries, and the former deck will also have a fully kitted professional galley.
In keeping with the owner’s brief, exterior living spaces will be ideal for both entertaining and relaxing; it will boast a large sundeck offering a contemporary, squared Jacuzzi, chrome detailing and central stairs.
A bespoke tender garage, separate from the roomy beach club, is revealed when the large swim platform is unfurled, with enough space to store a six-metre tender. Jet Skis and toys are stowed in the foredeck.
Crew accommodation includes a captain’s cabin on the upper deck and further cabins on the lower deck, while there will also be a crew mess and laundry room.
Other superyacht projects currently under development at the yard include the 31-metre Fuoriserie yacht and a 50-metre design from Andrea Bacigalupo – called Project Lysithea – based on the same hull as Elsea.
