CCN’s 27m custom yacht Freedom photographed in development

Cerri Cantieri Navali (CCN) has unveiled the first in-build pictures of its 27-metre (89-foot) custom motor yacht project Freedom, which has been commissioned by fashion designer Roberto Cavalli.

Sold in an in-house deal in May 2017, the Fuoriserie yacht will be constructed from aluminium and delivered in mid-2018. The pictures show that the Italian yard has made quick progress, with the hull largely complete, the superstructure fitted and the propulsion system taking shape.

Cavalli’s fellow designer Tommaso Spadolini will undertake interior and exterior styling. The brief called for a strong exterior profile to reflect the owner’s personality, while CCN has also been challenged to maximise contact with the sea without compromising privacy.

Speaking in 2017, yard CEO Diego Michele Deprati said, “It is a great honour for me to be able to build a yacht that will truly stand out for its great personality and unique features. The Fuoriserie philosophy is undoubtedly bound to become the distinguishing feature of our shipyard.”

Accommodation is for up to six guests split between a full-beam main deck owner’s cabin, situated just behind the helm station, and two staterooms below decks, adjacent to the crew quarters. Freedom’s other features include an upper deck helm station and a large cockpit with concealing curtains.

Power will come from a triple waterjet drivetrain that will give the fast-planing yacht a sporty top speed of 40 knots, while the foredeck will provide tender storage.

Other custom projects currently under development at the Italian yard include the latest 102 Flyingsport yacht, which is scheduled to hit the water later in 2018.
