CESG Ltd, a company providing offshore crew management services to the superyacht industry, has announced the appointment of a new business development manager to the company in order to service the continued expansion of the business, and to increase the relevant marine expertise of its staff.
In his new role, new recruit Nathan Ward will travel to industry events and conferences, to keep abreast of developments within the marine recruitment and crew management sectors. He will also be visiting existing clients throughout the year to develop relationships and identify areas where greater assistance and services can be offered, and to educate them on the efficiencies and cost savings that can be made when operating a HR and Payroll structure from Guernsey.
A former chief engineer, Nathan Ward has worked in the maritime industry for over 15 years, achieving qualifications in BTEC HND Marine Engineering, Engineering OOW Unlimited Reg. III/1 (Steam) and Chief Engineer Unlimited Reg. III/2 (Motor), also attaining his Incorporated status (IEng) with the UK Engineering Council.
Throughout his career, Nathan has worked on board notable motor yachts from the world’s superyacht fleet, including the 85m Ace, the 86m Ecstasea and the 70m Reverie, as well as Cruise Ships Royal Princess, Adonia and Oceana, earning him a thorough knowledge of the processes and legislation required to operate and crew superyachts.
Nathan also received the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) prize for his overall performance while attending the NVQ/HND course at Warsash Maritime Centre.
Nathan said of his new appointment, “I am looking forward to this new stage in my career, using my skills gained on the receiving end of CESG’s services to overcome new challenges and experiences. The transition to life ashore is a major step, but I’m definitely happy about no longer needing to do water tight door inductions or a duty watch again.”
Neil Carrington, CEO of CESG added, “We are delighted to have someone with Nathan’s experience joining CESG and adding further practical marine experience to the organisation. As the company continues to develop, the management team will benefit from the knowledge that Nathan brings with him and we are sure that he will soon blend into the shore-based way of life.”
Nathan makes up one of eight new recruits recently added to the CESG team, as part of the company’s efforts to meet client expectations.
