Chemring Marine raises £450 for the Sailor’s Society

Chemring Marine has raised more than £450 for its chosen charity, the Sailor’s Society, following a parachute jump by Chris Feibusch, the company’s sales manager.

Chris Feibusch jumped from a height of 13,000ft with the British army parachute regiment, where he accelerated from 0 to 120mph in 10 seconds during the 45-second freefall with tandem instructor, Nathan.

Chris, who is afraid of heights commented, "The jump was fantastic fun!  There was quite a bit of waiting round on the day because of the weather, but we finally got up late afternoon."

“The Red Devils are a fantastic bunch of guys; really down to earth and did everything they could to make the experience enjoyable."

“Each one has completed thousands of jumps, so they are incredibly skilled – just another day in the office!  The guy I came down with, Nathan was really buzzing and said he still gets a kick out of jumping even after nearly two thousand jumps.”

The Sailor’s Society is an international charity, which provides welfare support for merchant seafarers on board vessels and in ports.  As part of their work, they provide seafarers’ clubs and welfare centres and offer a range of practical help, financial assistance and family liaisons.  With £450 raised so far, Chemring Marine is hoping to build on this.

Chemring Marine is the world’s leading supplier of SOLAS, MED & USCG-approved marine distress signals to commercial and leisure marine markets. The company is in the process of being acquired by American-based, Drew Marine.
