China Rendez-Vous reveals line-up for Northern China’s marine lifestyle event SO! DALIAN

At a press conference held at the Shangri-La Hotel Dalian, official hotel sponsor of SO! DALIAN 2015, China Rendez-Vous, unveiled the official programme of its 2015 beach polo and marine lifestyle show to be held in Dalian on 18th to 21st June, 2015.

A major economic platform in Dalian, SO! DALIAN welcomes each year over 10,000 highly targeted guests and 150 exhibitors and luxury manufacturers promoting new experiences and lifestyle in China.

SO! DALIAN 2015 is organized with CCPIT, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the DongGang Marina of Dalian. The press conference was held in presence of Mr. Zhang Kaihua, Chairman of CCPIT, and Mr. Cui Bo, director of DongGang business district.

Delphine Lignieres, founder and CEO of China Rendez-Vous also weighed in on the evolving boating industry in China. She commented, “After being the factory of the world, China is shifting its economy to develop the service, tourism and leisure industries. As more and more Chinese individuals seek exciting new leisure activities during their holidays such as sailing, boats can no longer be seen as ‘toys for the Super Rich only’.

“We are witnessing an expanding offering of more affordable leisure boats, along with the development of new and more accessible facilities such as public marinas in key Chinese cities. Already at the core of the boat industry’s global growth, we are convinced that this trend is where the long-term development of the market lies for China, which is why it is paramount that we change the prevalent view that this sector is only reserved to the happy few.”

On this year’s event, organisers commented, “Fine weather, a growing demand in leisure from wealthy travellers and a growing middle and upper-middle class. The development of high-end leisure equipment and services makes Dalian the place to be in the summer. The beautiful DongGang Marina in Dalian will host the four day event.”

This year’s event will include a variety of sailing, equestrian golf, wine tastings and more. It has been announced that sailing events will include regular sea trials, sailing lessons and other water sports activities to be organized over the four-day event.

Equestrian events will include Beach Polo World Cup, horseback riding lessons and children’s pony club, an equestrian pavilion and more. There will also be an annual golf tournament, wine tastings, networking cocktails, fashion shows and craftsmanship on show at the art pavilion.

Over 150 exhibitors and more than 60 boats of all sizes will be presented by internationally and regionally acclaimed yacht and lifestyle manufacturers including Azimut, Sanlorenzo, Beneteau, Lagoon, Monte Carlo Yachts, Bavaria, Ferretti Group, Blue Whale, as well as brands including Champagne house Taittinger, Rolls Royce and more.
