Ciao completes winter refit at Moonen

Dutch yard Moonen has confirmed that 28.93-metre (95-foot) aluminium motor yacht Ciao has completed her winter refit.

Ciao (ex. Nilo) arrived at Moonen in November 2017 after journeying to the Netherlands from her Mediterranean base. Her parent yard has implemented numerous upgrades, including new electrical zero-speed stabilisers from CMC, new anodes and two fresh layers of antifouling on her hull.

The refit works took eight weeks to complete, with Ciao spending the rest of the winter months in Moonen’s climate-controlled hall before departing earlier this month.

Discussing the work last year, Moonen’s service manager, Eckly Hendricks commented, “The owner is really keen on detail and perfection, and the option to temporarily import the vessel into the Netherlands was also beneficial.”

Ciao first launched in 2007 as part of the yard’s Alu 94 series, and was last sold in September 2015. She features Art-Line interiors and exterior styling by Rene Van Der Velden. On-board accommodation is for up to eight guests across four en-suite cabins, consisting of a master cabin, a VIP suite and two twin rooms.

Power comes from a pair of 1,825hp Caterpillar C32 ACERT diesel engines for a top speed of 26 knots and comfortable cruising at 19 knots. At her economical speed of 11 knots, she can achieve a cruising range of 2,500 nautical miles drawing on a total fuel capacity of 18,900 litres.

Other superyacht projects currently under construction at the Dutch yard include 36.3-metre Project Martinique, which is offered for sale and available for delivery later in 2018.
