Circa Marin delivers FPB 78 explorer yacht Grey Wolf II to British owner

New Zealand Yard Circa Marine has delivered Grey Wolf II to a British client. She is the second hull in the FPB 78 series of compact explorer yachts.

Designed by Steve Dashew, the 26.27m yacht was sold by Berthon in February 2014. For her size, she has an impressive range of 7,100nm when cruising at 10 knots, and a fuel capacity of 18,350, making her a proficient long-range cruiser.

Powered by the same engines as her sister vessel Cochise, Grey Wolf II uses two L1066 Lugger diesel engines based on the Deer 6068 series block.

Her upper deck is similar to that of the FPB 97 Iceberg’s, and also features an akin great room with a central galley and spacious convertible saloon and wheelhouse area. The saloon area’s wraparound windows and colour scheme of cream and tan create a light and open design.

The owner’s cabin is situated in the bow, and two double rooms are located amidships, bringing the total guest accommodation to six. Crew quarters allow room for two staff members, although the vessel has been designed primarily with owner-operation in mind.

Grey Wolf II’s unique unfaired aluminium hull and MCA Category 0 superstructure means she is able to dry out at low tide. She also features a capsize recovery capacity and ample solar systems.

Tender storage is provided on the aft deck for remote exploration possibilities.

Circa Marin other projects currently include the third hull in the FPB 78 series, due to be completed before the year’s end.
