Cogs4Cancer day five: Aranzano to San Remo

Stage four sponsored by: IBW International Bunkering Worldwide
Kilometers ridden: 129km
Kilometers to go: 80km

The penultimate day of the superyacht charity cycle ride, Cogs4Cancer, saw the seventeen cyclists, including Yachting Pages’ MD Steve Crowe, cycle for five and a half hours from Aranzano to San Remo.

The fifth stage, sponsored by international bunkering company IBW, took the cyclists on a picturesque route through Loano and Savona, before finishing at San Remo.

Steve Crowe, managing director of Yachting Pages commented, “Keeping the focus on our superyacht roots, we made a stop off at the marina in Imperia where we were greeted and treated to a fantastic Gatorade and champagne reception by Griff’s brother who is captain on superyacht “Imagine”.”

The team reached the Riviera-style city of San Remo at 4.00pm, which is coincidently home to the world’s longest professional one-day cycling race, the 298km Milan-San Remo classic.

Yesterday marked the final day that the team will be riding alone as tomorrow sees 70 other riders joining the group for the Cogs 4 Cancer Tribute ride.

Currently at €193,335 of their €200,000 target, the riders have just 80km to cover on tomorrow’s tribute ride.
