Conor McGregor purchases Lamborghini x Tecnomar superyacht

Conor McGregor has bought a £2.6 million (€3 million) Lamborghini yacht as he consoles himself following his defeat by Dustin Poirier. The Irish boxer lost his trilogy fight against his rival when the fight was stopped after McGregor broke his leg in the first round.

In his latest Instagram post to his 41 million followers, he posted a picture of his newest yacht. A collaboration between Lamborghini and Italian boat manufacturer Tecnomar, the boat has attracted plenty of attention due to its sleek design. McGregor captioned the post, "My Lamborghini yacht is ready.”

The 24 ton, 19-metre (63-foot) yacht can reach a top speed of 60 knots and boasts 4,000 horsepower with its pair of 24.2-litre V-12 diesels. Inspired by the iconic car, the yacht has an angular and futuristic design with Y-shaped headlamps and the famous Lamborghini logo. There is also a dashboard based on Lamborghini's mid-engine hybrid sports car, the Sián FKP 37, a stark contrast to the typical layouts used by yachts. The yacht's exterior is inspired by the Lamborghini Miura and Countach from the 1960s and 1970s, the former of which famously appeared in the opening sequence of the 1969 film The Italian Job. Among the yacht's other features is a private bedroom space in the lower quarters, offering a cosy spot to relax while the boat cruises through the sea.

When asked about his best purchase ever made, McGregor said, “I would say my Lamborghini yacht, it is currently in Italy.

"It is ready for post-fight so it is going to have a bit of work done then I am going to Italy to christen my son with my family and friends and then pick up my yacht.

"It is some vessel, I am looking forward to getting in it and razzing it around.”
