In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
Dutch yard Contest Yachts has revealed it has lengthened its 25.85-metre in-build project by 0.4 metres ahead of its scheduled launch in 2018.
The Contest 84CS was first announced at the 2016 Cannes Yachting Festival, but as a result of this modification the model will now be known as the Contest 85CS.
The semi-custom yacht will come with ‘modern-classic’ interiors by Wetzels Brown Partners of Amsterdam, who previously styled the current Contest flagship PH3, which launched in 2012.
The hull is based on the successful Contest 67CS, which naval architect firm Judel Vrolijk & Co has extended with a moderate shallow underbody running back from the lightly raked bow to the angled, broad stern.
To minimise noise and vibration throughout its new project, Contest Yachts has decided to fit high levels of sound insulation to the engine room.
Contest 85CS has a semi-customisable layout, with owners able to choose either an aft or a forward master cabin configuration. She can accommodate up to ten guests across five en-suite cabins and four staff in the crew quarters. Storage comes in the form of a large lazarette, which has room for a range of water toys, while the tender garage is situated under the foredeck.
She is built to Lloyd’s Registery standards and will be powered by a 260hp Volvo Penta D4 engine. The 2,500-litre fuel tank should allow for extended cruising under power.
