Coronavirus causes Japan International Boat Show cancellation

The Japan Marine Industry Association (JMIA) has announced that this year’s Japan International Boat Show, due to take place from 5th – 8th March, has been cancelled due to the coronavirus epidemic.

Alongside Japan International Boat Show; Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul, Kaohsiung, and Shanghai shows have all also been cancelled due to the coronavirus, bringing the total number of shows either postponed or cancelled to six.

The issue with rescheduling is whether there is a suitable venue to host the regions indoor boat shows, given existing commitments.

Only the Korean International Boat Show has been rescheduled with revised dates 5th – 7th June. However, others have indicated that they’re trying to re-arrange new dates for later in the year, with most considering October. Although, the JMIA has insinuated that the Japan International Boat Show will now not go ahead until 4th – 7th March 2021.
