Couach celebrates 120th anniversary with latest FAST FLY and new cruiser

The French custom superyacht builder Couach celebrates its 120th anniversary this year, marking it with the conclusion of two new yachts – the delivery of the 4400 FAST FLY and the fifth instalment of the 2305 FLY cruiser.

The 44.8m 4400 FAST FLY was recently delivered to her new owners in time for the upcoming summer season. She features a composite hull and a flybridge that incorporate fibreglass, carbon fibre Aramat® and Kevlar®. All interior and exterior designs were carried out in-house, as well as all naval architecture.

She has zero-speed gyroscopic stabilisers installed aboard, and achieves a cruising speed of is 17 knots and a top speed of 24 knots.

Jean Yves Corvisier, project coordinator for 2305 FLY, said on completion of the project, “This yacht benefits from the experience of her two big sisters. I believe that the 4400 FLY is the apotheosis of what we are able to accomplish at Couach. From a design and decoration point of view, as much as from an innovation and technology point of view, an enormous amount has been achieved.”

The fifth edition of the 2305 FLY was launched on Thursday 16th March, coinciding with CEO Walter Ceglia’s first full year at the shipyard. According to Couach, it will be the owner’s first ever yacht after they spent years admiring a friend’s Couach yacht and ultimately decided to get one for themselves.

The 23m cruiser uniquely features two large guest cabins and an additional dressing suite, as opposed to the usual three guest cabins. The interiors follow a grey and beige colour scheme, and include a mix of oak and felt materials.

The yacht has a beam of 5.37m and a draft of 1.50m. Fully loaded, she has a displacement of 50 tonnes.

She also features zero-speed gyroscopic stabilisers and has twin MAN 12V 1400 diesel engines, providing a cruising speed of 24 knots and a top speed of 34 knots.
