CRN 50m superyacht in-build at Ancona yard

Construction has started on CRN’s first ever 50m Superconero yacht.

The hull of the superyacht was recently moved to make way for the installation of on-board systems and equipment, and the assembly of superstructure elements. Superconero is part of a line of 50m semi-custom yachts developed by CRN, which was first announced last April.

Due to be launched in 2017, Superconero will feature two Caterpillar C-32 diesel engines, and will have a range of 3,800nm at 11 knots, a cruising speed of 14 knots, and maximum speed of 15 knots.

CRN is currently working on the yacht with Italian design studio and previous collaborators, Zuccon International Project. The naval engineering for Superconero has been developed by CRN’s own engineering team, in partnership with Zuccon.

She will be a steel and aluminium displacement yacht, with a total interior volume of just under 500gt, and a nine-metre beam.

On board, CRN revealed that Superconero will feature “all the main construction and design solutions that make up CRN’s DNA.” These include a foldout balcony, as well as an opening terrace and aft beach club. Her standout feature, according to CRN, will be her tender garage, which will transform a technical room in an area to host guests, and will also include a natural pool.

CRN also announced that three other superyachts are currently under construction at the Ancona shipyard: 79m M/Y CRN 135, M/Y CRN 131 and 62m M/Y CRN 137.
