Croatia has become the most popular European tourist destination for British people in 2012, according to new research by Thomson UK.
Trips to Croatia by British people are up by 55% on last year, as stated by data compiled by the UK’s biggest tour operator. Croatia was also the only country researched by Thompson whose popularity increased.
Thomson’s findings bring more great news for Croatia’s superyacht businesses and professionals. It follows the naming of the region’s Rab and Brac islands as top tourist destinations in UK newspaper the Sunday Times's popular Sunday Travel supplement.
Croatia’s most recent large superyacht event was the Croatia Boat Show held in Split, the country’s largest coastal city, between 17th to 22nd April.
The show included presentations by charter companies, brokers, marinas, wine makers, nautical restaurants and other industry professionals, alongside exhibited sailing boats and yachts and nautical equipment and engines.
Upcoming big superyacht events in Croatia include the Adriatic Boat Show (between 16th and 21st May). Yachting Pages is the international media partner for the event, as requested by the Adriatic Boat Show’s organisers.
Yachting Pages’ Tyrone Jones and Francis Carter will be attending the show to meet clients and captains, prospective new clients and to present the new Yachting Pages 2012-2013 directory.
The Croatian Tourist Board is heavily backing the Adriatic Boat Show, and the Board will undoubtedly be very pleased by the findings of Thomson UK’s research.
