In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
Dutch shipbuilder Damen has delivered Power Play, its new 55.5-metre (182-foot) superyacht support vessel. The build was present at Monaco Yacht Show 2018, where it made its public debut and hosted the Damen and Amels party.
Power Play’s sea trials were completed earlier in the year. In addition to the usual tests, Damen was able to see her impressive carrying capabilities in action – she comfortably carried a 15-metre Damen Interceptor on the aft deck, with plenty of space for further tenders, toys and submersibles thanks to the expansive 240-square-metre deck and 12-tonne crane.
In open waters, Damen also reported that Power Play could reach top speeds of 20 knots.
Power Play is the sixth hull in the yard’s YS5009 series, following vessels such as New Frontiers, Game Changer and Advantage. To set her apart from previous projects, Power Play boasts a 50-square-metre aft adventure centre, which is able to convert into a dive store or beach club with ease.
The support vessel is able to accommodate up to six guests across three cabins, and owners that decide to take extended trips aboard Power Play can enjoy a sundeck and main-deck lounge with panoramic views. Crew quarters can comfortably house up to seven crewmembers and four auxiliary staff, such as pilots, security details or local guides.
Damen has also recently confirmed the construction of the seventh hull in the series. It is aiming for a speedy delivery – to take place in summer 2019.
