Damen Yachting delivers first Amels 60 Limited Editions superyacht

The first hull in a new generation of Amels 60 Limited Editions superyachts has been delivered to its owner, and named Come Together.

The new 60-metre (196-foot) yacht was commissioned by a repeat client and is the first of five Amels 60 sold models designed by the award-winning Espen Øino.

Come Together left the Damen shipyard in Vlissingen in March and is now available for charter in the Mediterranean with Y.CO, which will also oversee the yacht's operational management.

The new design features a metallic hull with distinctive trapezoid-shaped windows, a 27m-(88ft)-long sun deck, and a hybrid propulsion package.

The sun deck features an outdoor cooking station with a teppanyaki grill and an extendable dining table, that can seat up to 18 guests for occasional dining. The space can also be set up as an outdoor cinema when the sun sets.

Jim Dixon, director of yachts and aviation at Winch Design, commented, “The harmonious custom interiors capture the feel and style of a relaxed family home on the water, promoting a calm atmosphere and involuntary relaxation. For the most part, we have used pure and natural materials to emphasise the relaxed ‘home at the beach’ spirit of the interior.”

Guests also have direct access from the lower deck to the beach club where a 38m² swim platform provides a waterside sunbathing space and a launch pad for a selection of toys. Meanwhile, the tender garage has been moved to the foredeck and can store a nine-metre limousine, the largest tender on a yacht of this size.

The hybrid Amels 60 has a cruising speed of seven knots, a transatlantic range of 4,500 nautical miles at 13 knots, and a top speed of 15.5 knots. The electric propulsion will result in low noise and vibration, lower fuel, lower maintenance costs and lower emissions.

Come Together is now set up for charter and carries a crew of 14, including a personal trainer, yoga instructor, videographer, DJ, and water sports enthusiasts.

Charlie Birkett, co-founder and chief executive at Y.CO, said, “Come Together is an exciting addition to our fleet, not just because of her ground-breaking technology and design but because of her ambitious cruising schedule, which will see her being used as a platform for surfing, diving and exploring all over the world.”
