Daroca Design and SP.9 unveil 50m Odisye concept

Design studios Daroca Design and SP.9 have collaborated on a 50-metre (164-foot) superyacht concept named Odisye. Characterised by a ‘Yin/Yang approach’, the project blends sporty exteriors with soft and elegant interiors.

Bird's eye view of Odisye superyacht concept

Described as a ‘dramatic departure from conventional yacht design’, Odisye spans four separate decks which cascade down the aft side of the concept. The sundeck on the top deck features a Jacuzzi and bar, while the bridge deck aft caters for formal lunches and dinners or meetings via a large alfresco table that seats up to 16 guests.

The main deck contains soft seating for socialising in a more relaxed setting, while the beach club boasts a sea-level TV lounge with a 360-degree ocean view. Odisye’s bow is extremely inclined, with a dark blue and metallic anthracite-coloured hull for an eye-catching exterior profile.

The interiors offer a sense of calm as a result of SP.9’s muted, welcoming colour palette.

The main saloon features a marble floor that reflects the light along the ceiling and offers a large sofa with a dining table aft. Sectioned off by a translucent glass wall, an adjacent wine-tasting room is a sanctuary of privacy that keeps with the airy feel of the interiors.

Accommodation is for up to 10 guests across five cabins, comprising one master cabin, three VIP guest cabins and a twin. All cabins provide a meticulous choice of textures and materials including green onyx, panels of leather and embroidered silk.

Alejandro Crespo, Daroca’s founder and chief executive officer, said, “Odisye is designed with the modern yacht owner in mind. Elegant and energetic, the concept’s exterior design reflects the way of thinking of this new generation.”

Per Li, SP.9’s creative director, added, “I was inspired by the strong personality of new owners, who love the antithesis of sporty chicness and curvilinear elegance with a touch of ancestral artistry.”
