Denison Yacht Sales announces sale of Lionwind

US-Based yacht broker Denison Yacht Sales has announced the successful sale of the classic Bannenburg-designed superyacht Lionwind, built by Feadship in 1983 and formerly known as Azteca.

Glynn Smith of Denison Yacht Sales represented the seller, with Vesa Kaukonen of KK Superyachts having brought the buyer. Lionwind’s last reported asking price was set at €3.95m.

The 45m Lionwind is one of two identical yachts with sister ship Paraiso still retaining her original name today. Smith reports that the yacht will now head to Northern Europe for a major refit and restoration project and has great hope for the yacht’s future, commenting “Lionwind is an iconic vintage Feadship and deserves a new home where she can be refitted and then serve another 33 years on our oceans. We really look forward to following the next chapters in this yacht's colourful life.”

Lionwind has an aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure, and is equipped with an ‘ultra-modern’ stabilisation system which reduces roll motion effect and results in a smoother more enjoyable cruising experience, with bow thrusters making her more manoeuvrable at lower speeds.

She also features accommodation for up to eight guests and nine crew, and can reach speeds on 22 knots.
