Denmark to host its first international maritime fair

Denmark is considered one of the world's leading maritime nations and will soon host its first international maritime fair. The Danish Maritime Fair will take place in October in the biggest exhibition centre in Scandinavia, Bella Centre in Copenhagen.

The Danish Maritime Fair 2014 is open to the public from 7th to 10th October and takes place at the same time as the biggest maritime event in Denmark, the Danish Maritime Days. The event is expected to attract a large number of key decision-makers from all over the maritime world.

Rene Wittendorff, CEO of the Media House Maritime Denmark commented, "With the Danish Maritime Fair, international maritime equipment manufacturers have a unique opportunity to display their products to the Danish shipping companies, whose fleets transport 10 percent of the total world trade.

"And for the first time, key decision-makers from all over the world will have the opportunity to witness a large number of innovative and green Danish maritime products displayed in one place."

The organisations behind the Danish Maritime Fair are the Media House Maritime Denmark along with the Danish Shipowners Association, Danish Maritime, The Danish Maritime Authority and Oil & Gas Denmark.

Jakob Le Fevre, responsible for all sales in the Danish Maritime Fair said, “There has been a huge interest in the fair, not only from Danish companies but also from many foreign companies.

"We are especially happy about the wide range of businesses that have chosen to participate. At most international maritime fairs, you will find equipment manufacturers in almost every stand, but at The Danish Maritime Fair there will also be ship owners, organisations, educational institutions and government departments participating with their own stands. This makes the Danish Maritime Fair a unique experience for visitors."

But this is not the only way The Danish Maritime Fair differs from most other international fairs.

Jakob Le Fevre continued, "We have also introduced the Innovation Park, which provides an opportunity for small businesses to actively participate in the fair. We have furthermore moved the mandatory conference into the fair itself and changed it to an informal forum where messages are delivered quickly and accurately."

The Danish Maritime Fair will also include a special offshore section where companies related to the oil and gas industry will display their products and skills.
