Design Unlimited releases latest Sunseeker 161 details

British yacht design studio Design Unlimited has unveiled new details about the interior design of the 49-metre (161-foot) Sunseeker 161 superyacht.

Constructed in partnership with Dutch yard Icon Yachts, the vessel will be Sunseeker’s first metal-built superyacht.

Sunseeker 161 will be designed to each owner’s ‘unique taste’ and will feature ‘opulent interior spaces’, according to Design Unlimited.

Following on from its announcement at the Monaco Yacht Show last year, the superyacht is due to be delivered in 2021.

The yacht is being constructed at Icon Yachts’ Netherlands facility and will include a fast displacement hull design.

Sunseeker 161 will be able to accommodate between 10 and 12 guests, depending on the selected interior layout. Key features will include a sizable beach club and plunge pool on the main deck.

Sean Robertson, sales director at Sunseeker, commented, “A move into metal means there is no ceiling as to how big we can go in the future, but obviously this requires different expertise and so it was essential to find the right partner to support the project. Finding experience and expertise in metal build was not the issue.

“Finding a yard that shared the same progressive, innovative spirit to create something truly special and, most importantly, one which will provide us with the flexibility to build a true Sunseeker was the challenge. We have certainly found all of that with Icon.”
