Desty Marine increases service offering at Endeavour Quay

Endeavour Quay, Gosport, has announced that Desty Marine will be increasing its service provision from the Gosport boatyard with immediate effect. Following a successful three years of utilising the 180-ton boat lift and 40m boat sheds for large vessel re-sprays, Desty will now operate a wider range of services on a full time basis from Endeavour Quay.

Desty Marine are increasingly working with premium UK motor and sail yacht manufacturers including Sunseeker, Princess and Oyster.  A Portsmouth Harbour based facility suits the business growth plan and enables the boat repair and paint contractors to provide an enhanced service to these all clients.

With approximately 5000 leisure boats on Portsmouth Harbour, there are many business opportunities available and Desty Marine is one of the largest boat repair and marine paint contractors in the harbour itself.  The successful repair and refit business will also look to meet their employment and skill needs using local resources to support their expanding staffing requirements at Endeavour Quay.

Neil Desty of Desty Marine commented, “Endeavour Quay has provided us with a great service since the start of our partnership.  The equipment for handling large boats such as the 180-ton lift and deep water enable us to work on large paint projects that are also very complex.  The boat sheds provide the perfect space for the high levels of labour and expensive materials required as the working environment is critical to provide the best result for our clients and we need to be sure we have an expert team handling the boats in and out of the sheds at all times.”

Tim Newell, boatyard manager at Endeavour Quay added, “We welcome Desty’s plans to make their base at Endeavour Quay more permanent and full time.  Our business-to-business relationships are crucial to the success of the yard and offering the best services for our customers.  The relationship with Desty is no different and is one we are really keen to develop.”
