Dubai Creek Marina to open in December

Dubai Creek Harbour, a six-kilometre mega-development, has announced that its city-harbour getaway – Creek Marina – is to be officially opened in December 2018.

The marina is in the heart of the Creek Island Dubai and will offer a range of yachting facilities, including more than 80 berths for superyachts.

Spanning almost three-quarters of a kilometre in length and approximately a quarter of a kilometre in width, Creek Marina will be a suitably lavish destination for visitors to Dubai, providing high-end retail outlets, gourmet restaurants and leisure and entertainment venues.

It will also be home to a modern yacht club, as well as three hotels – this includes the Vida Harbour Point, a 286-room upscale lifestyle hotel that is set to open in 2019. Visitors will also be able to enjoy high quality art installations and a specially designed, gravity-defying interactive fountain.

Creek Marina will boast a promenade with environmentally friendly shaded resting areas constructed from sustainable elements. These lightweight shelters are designed to provide shade and thermal comfort with minimal maintenance to help reduce energy consumption.

The plush waterfront destination has an oyster design, in reference to the city’s pearling history, and will offer guests a wealth of facilities such as fuelling services, upgraded power outlets and pedestal units. The site also delivers spectacular views of the Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai.

Creek Marina will also host the next tallest tower in the world – the 928-metre Dubai Creek Tower, which is on course to be completed in 2020. The eye-catching skyscraper will have a number of observation points that supply 360-degree views of the city, and balconies that rotate outside the façade of the building.

Along with the Creek Marina announcement, Creek Island Dubai is also in the process of preparing the hand over of its first residences, which is due to take place in early 2019.
