Dubai is preparing for the first edition of the Dubai International Superyacht Summit, scheduled to take place in Mina Rashid Marina during the new-look Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS).
The two-day summit is set to kick off on Wednesday 28th February, and will see experts from the UAE superyacht industry and beyond discuss the opportunities and challenges for the emergence of the Emirati Riviera as a yachting destination, superyacht hub and winter destination.
According to organisers P&O Marinas and Fabmar, the show “answers increasing interest from the nautical community” to meet and share knowledge, information, challenges and to support each other’s interests.
An overview of the UAE will be given by the local industry in terms of available and planned facilities, existing services and actual challenges. Successful examples of popular yachting destinations outside of the UAE will also be presented and discussed. The two-day event will also serve as an occasion to launch new initiatives for the Emirati yachting industry, which is hoped will help this sector of the UAE maritime industry to become stronger, and increase the reputation of the country in the wider community.
Speakers at the event include major players from DP World, P&O Marinas, Dubai Airports, Al Seer Marine, Gulf Craft, Lynx Yachts, Cayman Registry, YPI Group, RINA, Lloyd’s Register, Azimut Yachts, Nautica Italia and Porto Montenegro.
The event is accompanied by an exciting social programme, providing the opportunity for speakers and attendees to network in an informal environment.
Tickets are available for sale at $800 U.S. dollars, with complimentary invitations extended to superyacht owners, captains and owner’s representatives for a limited time. Discounted rates are also available to UAE-based marina managers with pre-registration.
