Yachting Pages has put several of the leading safety cases (and other associated products) to the test. The objective: to ascertain how each product performs and determine which one is best equipped to safely contain a lithium battery-induced fire.
On Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd June, the very first East Anglian Boat Show will be held at MDL’s Woolverstone Marina. With exhibitors ranging from local businesses to major boat builders, the marina is inviting the local community, boating enthusiasts and their families into its facilities for free to celebrate the launch of Ipswich’s newest boat show.
Open from 10am to 5pm on both days, the event is held in conjunction with the British Marine Federation East Anglia and the RYA’s Active Marina Programme. Visitors will be able to browse a wide selection of new and used boats, ranging from 20ft to 45ft.
Exhibitors will include Broom Boats, who will be showcasing the brand’s newest model, the 430, which launched at the 2014 Dusseldorf Boat Show earlier this year. Other exhibitors will include motor yacht manufacturers, Elling Yachts, small river and speed boat specialists, Viking Mouldings, and new and used boat sales centre, Norfolk Yacht Agency. Local radio station, Town 102FM will be broadcasting live from the show, bringing listeners live updates on all the action.
On-shore demonstrations will be held by the RNLI covering sea safety, lifejacket checks and boat maintenance and there will be plenty of activities to keep younger visitors happy, including a bouncy castle. Refreshments will be available from the marina’s on-site bar and restaurant, Buttermans, throughout the day and parking and entry will be free.
Trevor Barnes, marina manager at Woolverstone Marina commented, “We are really looking forward to welcoming as many members of the local community into the marina as possible for the first East Anglian Boat Show. It looks to be a brilliant weekend and will give visitors the chance to explore a wide range of boats and marine products from some great brands, whilst also offering fun activities to keep younger visitors entertained.”
