EsenYacht announces “imminent” launch of 47m sailing yacht Project Troy

Turkish shipyard EsenYacht has confirmed that its new superyacht Project Troy, a sailing yacht measuring 47 metres (154 feet), has entered the final stages of her construction – with her launch reportedly “imminent”.

Project Troy has also been moved to a larger shed at the site, where she will be kept as work – such as top coat painting, glazing and decoration – is completed prior to her touching of the water.

EsenYacht is also due to complete teak decking and rigging, as well as fit the keel bulb and mast. Final internal fitting out and interior decoration processes, which will feature Italian leathers and marbles, also need to take place.

Tim Saunders has designed Project Troy with naval architecture coming courtesy of Dykstra Naval Architects. Her full LOA is slightly over 47 metres but the bowsprit adds three metres of additional length.

Project Troy is capable of comfortably hosting up to 12 guests and nine crewmembers, but further details and features remain under wraps at this stage.

Deniz Can, chief operations officer of EsenYacht, said of the build, “It is very rewarding to see Troy completing the final stages of this turn-key superyacht project. It will be a great pleasure to see Troy begin cruising the oceans.”

Tim Saunders added, “I am delighted to see Troy take shape and to finally see her iconic, dynamic and elegant lines under the blue sky.”

First images of Project Troy were revealed in November 2013, but after lengthy delays throughout the process, significant headway was made in the first few months of 2018.
