Feadship’s new CID was launched yesterday in the presence of the client who had overseen the development at the shipbuilder’s yard in Aalsmeer.
The superyacht completed a maiden tour of the local Dutch canals, and the client will now be taking her for two days of sea trials in the North Sea and around the Wadden islands.
Once delivered, CID will be taken to the Fjords and the Mediterranean, and this winter she will explore Mexico’s west coast, before spending next summer on the Baja California Peninsula.
At 34.65m in length and with a draught of 1.8m, the yacht is able to fit into shallow berths, while her seakeeping abilities, matched with a top speed of 20 knots, allow the client to move swiftly between locations.
The yacht includes giant windows to offer panoramic views from the main lounge, as well as the master stateroom and all four guest suites on the lower deck.
The interior is geared around practicality and sophistication over opulence, and the yacht utilises wooden floors throughout. For entertainment, she houses a large TV and big-screen projector, so guests can watch two sporting events at once.
Baddenberg & Rowell Design designed a simple palette of oak, walnut and wenge wood for the interior, making the most of the 2.45m headroom in the main saloon. The selection of soft furnishings were presided over by Marty Lowe, the client’s own interior designer.
