Ferretti Yachts launches first Ferretti 1000 flagship in Italy

Italian superyacht builder Ferretti Yachts has launched its new flagship, the Ferretti 1000.

Built for a French owner, the first model hit the water from Ferretti Yachts' Cattolica-based facility in Italy. Ferretti Yachts also revealed that a further two hulls in the series have been sold.

Speaking about the yacht, Ferretti Group chief executive Alberto Galassi said, “The new flagship is an exciting choral work permeated by the flair, vision and passion of so many skilled and talented people who represent the winning factor for Ferretti Yachts. To them all I’d like to offer my heartfelt thanks for how they have completed an extraordinary project like Ferretti Yachts 1000 in such a complicated year.”

First announced at the boot Düsseldorf boat show last year, the 30.48-metre (100-foot) carbon fibre superyacht features exterior design by Filippo Salvetti and an interior penned by IdeaeItalia.

Standout features of the yacht include the "substantial" carbon fibre construction, with both the superstructure and hardtop fully constructed from carbon fibre. A sporty exterior with in-built lateral glass structures aft and amidships is combined with a practical beach club aft and spacious flybridge.

Speaking about the flagship design, Salvetti said the Ferretti 1000 was designed "with the future in mind".

The yacht's "simple and clean-cut forms" gives the yacht "a strong, spontaneous and graceful appearance with an extremely fresh and vibrant silhouette," he added.

The interior design meanwhile has been described as "elegant and modern". Filled with natural light thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows, the yacht's interior features a modular layout and freestanding furniture.

Key materials include wood, marble and glass alongside “delightfully soft, warm and comfortable” coverings and fabrics.

The two interior themes are "classic", which includes soft, traditional tones, and "contemporary", with bolder colours and more urban influences.

Accommodation on board is for 10 guests, comprising an owner's suite on the main deck and four guest suites on the lower deck. The crew quarters meanwhile allows for a crew of five staff and includes a dedicated captain's cabin.

Introducing the new model at boot Düsseldorf in January 2020, Ferretti Group chief operating officer Stefano de Vivo claimed the yacht will be the “biggest 100-foot boat on the market”.

“It will be even bigger than the Riva Corsaro, which is the largest in volume on the market,” he said.

Elsewhere, the yacht's "revamped stern concept" results in 40 square metres of living space while the garage can hold a Williams Sportjet 445 tender, personal watercraft and two Seabobs.

Power will come from a pair of MTU 16V 2000 M86 engines for a top speed of 28 knots and cruising speed of 24 knots.
