First in-build photos offer first glimpse of 30m Vagante

First in-build photos show that construction work on 30-metre (98-foot) sailing yacht Vagante is now well underway at Turkish yard Huzur Yat ahead of its expected delivery in mid-2018.

With naval architecture and exterior design by Taka Yacht Design and interior styling from Stephen Huish Design, Vagante’s name translates as ‘rambler’ to signify an adventurous life at sea.

Her interior is described as ‘modern and clean’, as specifically requested by the owner, and utilises American walnut, bleached oak and polished stainless steel detailing throughout.

Accommodation on board is for up to eight guests, with five crewmembers on hand to wait on a guest’s every need. Vagante is expected to have a top speed of 10 knots and comfortable cruising at 7 knots.

Osman Tanju Kalaycıoğlu, naval architect at Taka Yacht Design, commented, “Vagante was designed for a young, enthusiastic couple and their family with a huge love for the sea. She is styled after the Turkish gulets, but with much finer lines, modern under body, bulb keel and spade rudder.

“Her structure is designed well in excess of RINA rules, but she is of medium displacement due to an efficient arrangement of frames and bulkheads. Electrical and piping systems are carefully designed and executed for long life with minimum maintenance.”
