Fischer Panda UK strengthens leadership team

Marine diesel generator specialist Fischer Panda UK has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of David Payne as business development director and Chris Baker as operations and technical director, effective on 1st January 2021.

Payne, an indentured mechanical engineer and hybrid diesel and electric power systems specialist, moves to his new role following three years as technical sales manager for the company. With 25 years’ experience in the marine and automotive industries, Payne has established expertise in developing and customising innovative and cost-effective hybrid and electric solutions for both vessels and specialist vehicles.

Engineering manager Baker has been central to assisting Fischer Panda UK’s growth over the last 24 years, amassing a depth of technical skills in the field. He currently leads the growing engineering team and controls the operations side of the business.

“We are delighted to announce the expansion of our team of directors with two very experienced and proficient professionals who have both established themselves as essential to the business,” said Barry Fower, Fischer Panda UK’s managing director. “Since he joined us in 2017, David has been a great asset to the company, and we are confident that his experience and skillset will continue to benefit the business and our customers.

“Chris has an abundance of knowledge about the industry, where we sit in the market and our technical product range and is the ideal choice to head up the operations and technical aspects and take our highly skilled engineering team forwards.

“The appointments reflect a natural progression for Fischer Panda UK, improving and strengthening the structure of the leadership team to help drive us forward in new technologies, ensuring we can adapt quickly to industry developments and improving delivery to our partners and customers.”

In addition to electric solutions, Payne and Baker will also lead the technical progression of Fischer Panda projects and systems integration for its diesel generators, Mastervolt power systems, Sea Recovery water purification, Dometic climate control and CZone digital monitoring on leisure and commercial marine vessels, specialist automotive vehicles and off grid applications.
