Yacht management and brokerage firm Floating Life and yacht builders Cerri Cantieri Navali (CCN) have announced new details about the construction progress of M/Y Kanga, one year after the original signing off of the project.
K40 M/Y Kanga – the first hull of Series K – is a “light ice class” explorer yacht commissioned to Floating Life by an American owner in October 2015 with the desire of cruising around the world all the way up to the Poles.
As the first of two new constructions already sold, the four-deck M/Y Kanga is a 41m superyacht built with extreme reliability and ease of handling in mind, with a full beam of 9.4m. The hull is in steel, reinforced for the ‘light ice class’ while the superstructure is in aluminium, all without exceeding 500 GT.
Both Floating Life and CCN have stated that the construction timeline has been perfectly executed with all the foreseen steps respected.
As of January 2017, the construction of the superstructure and hull have been completed, whilst construction of the internal partition on the lower deck has been started alongside piping alignment and steel flooring supports for accommodation areas.
In line with the owner’s preferences, the initial K40 project has been greatly modified, with particular regard to the interior decoration, designed in collaboration with Studio Sculli.
